Born in Seoul, Korea, Jung – Pill Ryu is one of the most promising singer in Korea with outstanding talent.

 

His prizes and awards include 2nd prize in “Francisca Cuart International Singing Competition” (2002), 3rd prize in “Vincenzo Bellini International Singing Competition” (1999), Special Prize of best tenor in “Viotti Valsesia International Singing Competition” (1999), Special Prize of scholarship in “Francisco Viñas Singing Competition” (1998), and 2nd prize in “Dong-a International Music Competition” (1991). He was also selected as one of the most promising musician in Korea by KBS (Korea Broadcasting System) for his profound musical ability and achievements in the performing arts.

 

He studied at Seoul National University and received the Bachelor´s Degree under In-Su Park´s direction and Diploma from “Orfeo” Singing Academy. And he studied privately with Juan Oncina in Barcelona (Spain).

 

He sang as protagonist in Korea and in Italy : « Faust » of Gounod, « L´Elisir d´Amore » of Donizetti, « La Traviata » of Verdi, « La Boheme » of Puccini, etc.

 

He has been presented as soloist in Korea, Japan, Italy, Czech, Austria, Germany, Finland and Spain with KBS Symphony Orchestra, Balears Symphony Orchestra, Caltanissetta Symphony Orchestra, Moladova Philharmonic Orchestra, NDR Radiophilarmonie Hannover, Prague Sinfonietta, Budweiser Symphony Orchestra, Mikkeli Chamber Orchestra, Niederösterreichisches Tonkünstlerorchester, etc.
