Born in
Murcia, he estudied at the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Valencia
and Alicante, with Nuria Mejías and Ana Luisa Chova. He received master
class from Magda Olivero, G. Di Stefano, R. Scotto, M. Del Pozo, Isabel
Penagos, Enedina Lloris, Ana Luisa Chova and Miguel Zanetti, and has
taken several courses on early music by Marie-Claude Vallin, Max Van
Egmond, Marius Van Altena and Albert Romaní.
He
started his musical activity in a university choir, singing as soloist,
with Graz Music Conservatory Orchestra , in Pergolesi’s Magnificat, and
in Tomás Luis de Victoria’s Triduum Sacrum.
He has
appeared in the three last Talleres de Ópera at Palau de la Música de
Valencia, singing the roles of Pittichinaccio i/The Tales of Hoffmann,
Rinuccio and Gerardo/Gianni Schicchi, and Elvino/Sonnambula by Bellini,
all of them under the vocal direction of university professor Ana Luisa
Chova and stage directors Antonio Díaz Zamora and Jaime Martorell.
He
performed the role of Harlequin in the national premiere of the opera
The Emperor of Atlantis, and the role of the Fourth Jew in R. Strauss’
Salome, at the Palau de la Música de Valencia. He has also sung Tom
Johnson’s L´Opèra de 4 notes, El retablo de Maese Pedro, Carissimi’s
Jephta, Haendel’s Messiah, Mozart’s Requiem, Hasse’s Magnificat, J.
Haydn’s Nelson Masse, Juan A. Gómez’s Miserere nº 2 and Charpentier’s
Messe de Minuit pour Noël.
He has
made some incursions in the world of the zarzuela, with El Huésped del
Sevillano and La Tabernera del Puerto.
With
the Capella Saetabis, he has recorded Mestres de Capella de la
Col.legiata de Xátiva, with Pere Ros and Rodrigo Madrid, and Mestres de
Capella de la Concatedral de Santa Maria de Castelló, with Rodrigo
Madrid.
He
sang Mozart’s Mass in C minor, with the Orquesta Pablo Sarasate, and
recent and future projects include as well as the roles of Anchise and
Sicheo in Francesco Cavalli’s Didone, to be performed, with the ensemble
Europa Galante under Fabio Biondi, in Venice and Turin., Vida Breve with
Orquesta Sinfonica de Navarra, Bach´s mass under Helmuth Rilling and
Salustia in Teatro Pergolesi under Antonio Florio.
